A high-level meeting took place on November 14 in Minsk at the Hi-Tech Park (HTP). Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Roman Golovchenko and Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov were introduced to the Park’s activities, the working conditions of its resident companies, and various technological developments across different sectors of the economy. As a successful project in the financial sector, LWO’s digital solution — the Oplati mobile service — was showcased.

During the presentation, Oleg Kondratenko, Director of LWO, emphasized that the Oplati payment system not only strengthens the financial sovereignty of Belarus but also enhances convenience and reliability for users. “Just earlier this month, we launched a new feature enabling Oplati users to pay for purchases in the Russian Federation via Sberbank’s QR code — using nothing but their smartphones. We’ve proposed a similar integration to the banking sector of Kazakhstan as well,” he said.

“We’ve prepared a proposal for our Kazakh partners similar to the one implemented with Sber. Our goal is to achieve full payment system integration so that our citizens can travel to Kazakhstan, scan any local bank’s QR code, and complete the payment seamlessly. Likewise, Kazakh citizens visiting Belarus would be able to pay by simply showing their own QR code,”

— added Oleg Kondratenko.

Oplati, developed by LWO — a resident of Belarus’s Hi-Tech Park — has already earned its place in the high-tech market.

As the first domestic payment service built on a QR-code-based ecosystem, Oplati represents the next stage in the evolution of payment systems. It enables users to pay at retail stores, refuel their cars with a single tap at the pump, reserve parking spots and open barriers via app, transfer money in chat, make online purchases, and buy tickets for both metro and surface transport. Oplati already offers dozens of practical features for daily use and has united more than one million users across over 100 countries worldwide.
