Basketball at LWO: How Sport Brings Employees Together and Promotes Well-Being

The 2025/26 season proved to be one of the busiest and most successful in the history of our company’s basketball teams.

A real highlight was the launch of a new tournament–the inaugural OPLATI Cup 2026, which brought together four contenders: OPLATI, OPLATI-4, and two teams from Moscow. The OPLATI players showed true character and determination, securing a hard-fought victory.

The season was successful for the OPLATI squad in the National Basketball League Championship, which ran from September through June. During this period, the team played 12 games in the second division and won bronze medals.

Another major milestone awaited us this season–the debut of a new OPLATI team formed to compete in the Veterans Basketball League. The squad immediately delivered impressive results: 8 wins in 10 games, a place in the final, and silver medals in the tournament. For a debut season, that is a truly remarkable start!

Physical activity is an important part of corporate culture. Joint training sessions and tournaments create an environment where sport becomes a natural part of the working day.

New competitions, new opponents, new victories–the basketball movement at LWO continues to grow year after year. At the heart of this growth are the players and fans whose energy and support have become a major driving force behind the teams’ success.
